Job description

ARA Marine is a national service provider to the Offshore, Oil and Gas, Shipping, Defence industries offering quality products, innovative solutions, and impeccable service. Due to growth, we are seeking a Qualified Mechanical Fitter to join the Henderson team reporting to the Operations Manager.

The Marine Service Technician will represent ARA Marine in the best possible manner and accomplish the tasks allocated with thoroughness and accuracy.

Key responsibilities:

  • Pressure relief valve testing, cylinder and flexible hose pressure testing, compressor overhauls & servicing mechanical related equipment within Defence industries.
  • Provide service and customer support during field visits or on-site. 
  • Test parts and systems to ensure that they are working correctly.
  • Follow the necessary checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined.
  • Identify worn and faulty component needs in accordance with the company standards. 
  • Manage all onsite installation, repair, maintenance, and test tasks.
  • Diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions.
  • Produce timely and detailed service reports. 
  • Document processes in an accurate manner 
  • Be able to work autonomously & unsupervised.
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization.
  • Comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations and briefings. 
  • Enter Job information into App based software.
  • Be able to undertake OEM training courses as required.
  • Be prepared to increase knowledge base around compliance and regulation. 
  • Build positive relationships with the team and customers.
  • Comply with company OHS and E rules and regulations.
  • Support the Operations Manager and technicians as needed
     

This role is essential to our business and as such we are looking for a candidate who meets the criteria listed below:

  • 3 -5 years post trade proven experience Trade Mechanical Fitter.
  • Comfortable using App based software when completing jobs.
  • Drivers licence and White card
  • Ability to pass and maintain a current National Police Check.
  • Desirable qualifications.  EWP, Forklift, Riggers Licence. Extinguishing Agent Handling Licence
