We currently seek an Energetic and Passionate Candidate for the role of Liferaft Service Technician, based in our Bibra Lake Office.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Liferaft Technician is responsible for the service and maintenance of VIKING Liferafts and Lifejackets. VIKING equipment is used to preserve the lives of anyone on the water whether it be recreational boating or on some of the worlds most advanced oil and gas facilities. Your effort and attention to detail really makes a difference!
You will be supported and welcomed into an experienced team and given comprehensive training to ensure you are set up for success!
Our next Service Technician is a key position within VIKING and integral to the company's growth strategy.
What do I need to be a Fantastic Liferaft Technician?
- Be fit and agile.
- Enjoy light but manual labour, and working with your hands.
- Have a can-do attitude and enjoy seeing a job through from start to finish.
The daily duties of our Service Technicians include:
- Inflation and deflation of various size Liferafts.
- Service and maintenance of Liferafts including replacement of survival equipment.
- Load testing of Liferaft.
- Packing and transport of Liferafts.
- Warehouse and logistic's duties.
Applicants ideally shall meet the following criteria:
- Previous experience in a similar, marine based role, trade or trade assistant/labourer background.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with Windows based programs.
- Ability to read and understand technical manuals and regulatory standards.
- Awareness of relevant maritime regulations such as SOLAS, IMO, NSCV
- Be self motivated with high attention to detail.
- Work well as part of a small team and be flexible to assist in other areas of the business.
The following is desirable, but not essential:
- Manual driver's license.
- Forklift License
- Hold or be eligible to apply for a MSIC.
