The Smith Family is an independent children's charity helping Australian children living in disadvantage to get the most out of their education, so they can create better futures for themselves. As we celebrate our Centenary and continue to shape education programs for the kids we support, we are currently seeking a Marketing Content Coordinator to help us achieve our vision.
Reporting to the Retention & Development Manager and working with a dedicated and passionate team, this pivotal role is responsible for the creation and development of engaging, inspiring and compelling content for use across a suite of fundraising materials both in printed and digital formats. End-to-end video production skills are required, from storyboarding and script writing to interviewing, filming and editing. You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to make those you are interviewing (including parents and children) feel at ease.
The aim of this role is to produce content that supports the fundraising activities which acquire, retain, engage and deliver value back to supporters, with the aim of driving our five-year supporter growth and retention plan.
A day in the life of a Marketing Content Coordinator might look like this, but every day can be different. Primarily, you will be responsible for:
- Sourcing case studies/testimonials and conducting interviews
- Liaising with the Communications team on leveraging content for social media
- Carrying out photography and videography at those interviews where applicable
- Producing content to be used in fundraising materials, including The Smith Family website, e-newsletters, social media, blogs and videos
- Editing video footage to create engaging video and audio stories
- Updating the website with new content
It takes a special kind of person to be our Marketing Content Coordinator. Our successful candidate will bring the following:
- Three or more years’ experience in a content production role or in a marketing, advertising or communications role with demonstrated experience in content production
- Ability to generate ideas for cross channel and on and offline content
- Highly creative and keen interpersonal skills
- Strong project management time management and organisational skills
