Are you a creative thinker with a passion for cultural engagement and storytelling?
We are seeking a dynamic and strategic Marketing Program Manager to join the Communications & Marketing Section of a Canberra based Cultural Institution. In this role, you will play a crucial part in promoting the Institution's facilities, exhibitions, events, and fellowships to diverse audiences, aligning with the strategic objectives and vision.
This is a 12 month non-ongoing contract. Canberra location with flexible working conditions, including flexibility to work from home part of the week. Salary negotiable within the APS 6 salary band, commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing plans aligned with the External Communications and Digital Community Strategy
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather insights and develop targeted promotional plans that reflect the Institution's strategic priorities
- Plan and execute media bookings across various channels, maximising exposure and engagement
- Lead the creation of high-quality marketing materials in both print and digital formats, ensuring consistency and effectiveness across all communication channels
- Work closely with designers to conceptualise and execute visually appealing promotional materials that capture the essence of our Institution and its offerings
- Write compelling copy tailored to different audience segments, including visitors, tourists, academics, and more
- Coordinate with internal teams to gather briefs and ensure alignment on promotional initiatives
- Mentor and support staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment that aligns with APS values and best practices.
Any experience in a marketing role within tourism or a cultural institution will be highly regarded, but is not is mandatory.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Qualifications or equivalent experience in communications & marketing
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing marketing strategies, with a focus on digital engagement and audience segmentation
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging to different audience segments
- Knowledge of the cultural sector and a commitment to promoting diversity and inclusivity in cultural programming
- Media experience including proactive pitching and securing media opportunities will be highly regarded
- Australian citizenship
