Are you an experienced Master > 45m / Med 2 Engineer looking for an exciting opportunity to work on the world-renowned Great Barrier Reef?
Our company is seeking a skilled and motivated Skipper to join our team and help us maintain and operate our vessels in this unique and challenging environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the engineering department on board our vessels operating on the Great Barrier Reef.
- Ensure the safe and efficient operation of all machinery and equipment on board, including diesel engines, generators, electrical systems, HVAC systems, and other mechanical equipment.
- Conduct regular inspections and maintenance checks to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Implement and monitor preventative maintenance programs to reduce downtime and maximize vessel availability.
- Supervise and train staff.
- Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts and consumables.
- Provide technical advice and support to other departments and crew members.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair activities.
Requirements:
- Master >45M & MED 2 or higher
- Excellent engineering skills
- Experience driving vessels up to 35 metres
- Excellent communication skills
- Exceptional leadership skills
- Exceptional time management and organisational skills
- A friendly team leader with a can-do attitude
- A valid First Aid and O2 Provider certification
- Unrestricted rights to work in Australia
