About the role
An exciting opportunity exists for a Master Data Specialist: Operational Readiness to join our Kooragang Island Continuous Manufacturing site in Newcastle, NSW on a full-time, permanent basis. This role reports to the Principal Engineer - Global Maintenance.
The successful candidate will be the point contact to support Master Data acquisition and entry as part of Operational Readiness (OR) at the 5 Orica Continuous Manufacturing Sites. The incumbent will be the Master Data Subject Matter Expert (SME); guiding and supporting Project teams (PMO), site representatives, and Reliability teams to ensure the quality, consistency, and security of SAP Master Data for major projects across CM whilst always adhering to global standards and compliance requirements. Additionally, he/she will cooperate with the Local Master data Specialists, the Global Master Data Organisation (MDO) office, and the Maintenance Managers of all CM sites.

What you will be doing

  • Maintain high SHEC compliance and manage SAP Master Data requests according to global standards and change management processes.
  • Master Data SME; supporting PMO throughout the project life cycle to ensure all associated Master Data is captured and loaded into the system for all major capital projects.
  • Leading site and project teams through Operational Readiness Strategy sessions at the commencement of any new project to ensure appropriate provision is included for OR.
  • Preserve and share best practices for local Master Data across CM, including technical object structure, maintenance plans, task lists, bill of materials (BOMs), material creation, and repairable processes.
  • Mentor other colleagues, especially integrity and reliability engineers and coordinators, team members in planning and maintenance teams, and coordinators and engineers in the project office team.
  • Track and report on Master Data Requests (MDR) preparation and delivery, issue and monitor approvals, and liaise with the Global MDO office.
  • Support MDR delivery as / when required for CM sites.
What you will bring
  • At least 3 to 5 years of experience with SAP Asset Management processes and systems.
  • Proficiency in the technical data requirements for SAP CMMS related to the Asset Management processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to learn and use new software-based systems, such as SAP 4S Hana and Fiori. LSMW transactional knowledge is an advantage.
  • Capability to interpret technical drawings and P&IDs.
  • A relevant engineering qualification is preferred.
  • Prior experience in the Project and Reliability environment is advantageous.
  • Aptitude to work with various site teams collaboratively.
  • Skill to articulate work requirements precisely and identify related solutions.
