Leading Hand Material Recovery
EMPLOYMENT TYPE:
Permanent Full time
THE POSITION:
To assist in all aspects of the operation of the Materials Recovery Facility

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Engage in a coordinated orderly approach to the sorting of recycling and waste disposal by providing a high level of customer service where required
  • Take lead role in sorting of material in the MRF sorting room
  • General Labouring duties
  • Provide practical on the job training and induction to new starters labour hire diversions personnel upon their initial engagement
  • Operate and perform preventative maintenance on plant in accordance with the manufacturers’ requirements relative to their role
  • Removal of select products from a single stream of waste material depositing this down designated chute for recycling
  • Work in a fast-paced team environment picking material off a moving conveyor belt effectively and efficiently
  • Set recoverable material not currently being picked up in such a way that assists the next persons down the line
  • Report any issues with the plant to MRF Leading Hand so these can be actioned to be rectified
  • Inform MRF Leading Hand when the hook bins under plant need replacing in a timely manner
  • Maintain a safe tidy working area
  • Assist in litter control as required
  • Use relevant skills to assist in other areas of Resource Recovery
  • Perform other tasks or duties as directed by the Supervisor which are within the limits of the employee's skill, competence and training.
  • Observe requirements of the WHS Legislation, relevant to the job and adhere to AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding WHS.
  • Observe appropriate AlburyCity Policies and Procedures regarding day to day operations including Equal Employment Opportunity policies, AlburyCity's Dress Code and Standards Policy and AlburyCity's Code of Conduct.
