Lycopodium Minerals are currently recruiting for an experienced Materials Controller to join our new project in the Southwest of Western Australia.

Reporting to the Construction Manager the Materials Controller will be responsible for the processes involved for materials procured from the date of purchase until hand-over to the site team or allocated site contractor.
The tasks you'll perform

  • Ensure the timeliness and accuracy of the delivery of materials procured (reporting, costs, and schedule) in accordance with the project plans and schedule.
  • Effectively and efficiently manage the Transport and Logistics (T&L) package in a coordinated manner with the appointed T&L contractor to ensure the best result for the project.
  • Coordinate with other project disciplines such as procurement, inspectors and site to overcome shipping and/or delivery issues that may be encountered.
  • Oversee the various work procedures, practices, and plans for the movement of materials and ensure that deliverables are met to a high-level of accuracy.
  • Liaise with Vendors and the project transport and logistics provider to effectively plan transportation and shipping activities.
  • Expedite Vendors for timely receipt of all deliverables including shipping documentation and equipment and materials adequately packed for transportation in accordance with the project specifications.
  • Ensure all dealings with the Client, Vendors and other external stakeholders are professional and in line with ethos of the business.
  • Manage all members of the Materials team in compliance with applicable project specific requirements and current industry work codes and standards to ensure effective delivery of contracts.
The expertise you'll bring
  • Demonstrable experience in Materials Management within the mineral processing plant or infrastructure construction industries.
  • Experience in dealing with fabrication yards in Asia (mainly China)
  • Experience with transportation of goods and materials and sound knowledge of international freight laws, regulations and practices.
  • Broad multidisciplinary base knowledge in mineral processing plant / infrastructure construction.
  • Ability to work with people at all levels within an organisation and external providers.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
