Job Description “Materials Engineer” for Aluminium Dynamics:
Aluminium Dynamics was established in March 2003. Since inception Aluminium Dynamics has primarily serviced and supplied the alloy boat building industry in the form of fully cut CNC construction alloy kits. The Role
As an Aluminium Dynamics Materials Engineer, you will be expected to perform your duties confidently and comfortably in a factory setting both independently and as a team. Some of your responsibilities will include:
- Material and Equipment Oversight:
- Ensure the correct selection and usage of materials and equipment, verifying their adherence to specifications.
- Equipment Monitoring:
- Monitor equipment operations and maintenance to achieve optimal efficiency.
- Process Solutions Development:
- Develop efficient process solutions determining materials and equipment, focusing on optimizing production and operational efficiency.
- Equipment Troubleshooting:
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement remedial actions.
- Quality Assurance:
- Develop specifications for manufacturing, regularly checking products and materials to ensure compliance with standards.
- Conduct thorough checks on output to guarantee product quality, maintaining records of any defective items.
- Product Development Support:
- Review plans for new products and provide material selection recommendations in line with design specifications.
- Supplier Collaboration:
- Consult with suppliers, evaluating suitable materials for specific product applications.
- Communication and Coordination:
- Participate in regular meetings and updates to enhance communication and coordination between relevant departments.
- Workplace Maintenance:
- Maintain a clean workspace to ensure health and safety compliance.
- Adherence to Instructions:
- Follow instructions issued by the General Manager or acting managers efficiently and effectively.
- Ethical Work Practices:Uphold a strong work ethic when working independently and collaboratively within a team.
ABOUT YOU.
- Relevant University qualification in CHEMICAL / MATERIALS Engineering, or related field.
- At least two years of experience in an engineering / manufacturing-based industry.
- Previous experience working in an Engineering role will be highly regarded.
- Ability to manage work priorities effectively.
- Analytical strengths, with good problem-solving skills.
- Self-motivated individual with the ability to work both individually and as part of a highly skilled team.
