THE POSITION
As the Mazda Workshop Foreman you will be responsible for monitoring the timely and efficient flow of vehicles through the workshop to ensure customer’s vehicles are delivered on-time, contribute to customer satisfaction and supervising the workshop team members.
Reporting to the Service Manager, in this role you will perform a range of engine and mechanical tests to diagnose, repair and service vehicles, while also guiding members of the workshop team to produces industry leading work quality, process efficiency and team culture.
This role offers you the chance to work in a clean and modern workshop with 11 workshop bays with modern equipment and tooling. Our technicians work with Mazda Genuine Parts and enjoy regular manufacturer and in-house training, as well as access to up to the minute online data and access with open communication to the manufacture to ensure they remain experts in their field.
DUTIES INCLUDE (but are not limited to):
- Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles
- Control workshop quality, processes and drive a culture of quality and compliance
- Adherence to manufactures diagnostic protocols
- Ensure all warranty and manufacturer process is carried out to comply with company and manufacturer guidelines
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems with a variety of vehicles
- Working closely with franchise and in-house Technical Specialist on complex problems
- Providing face to face technical support to our guests.
- Providing guidance and supervision to Technicians and Apprentice Technicians
- Test driving & conducting quality assurance inspections
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
- A current and valid manual driver’s licence
- Qualifications as a Technician with developed knowledge of the Automotive Industry.
- The ability to understand written instructions and installation diagrams.
- A developed knowledge of manufacturer’s policies, guidelines and requirements.
- A high attention to detail, and the ability to work to defined time frames.
- Customer focused attitude with the willingness to speak to customers on issues or mechanical requirements where necessary.
- Ability to lead and manage a team, including mentoring of apprentices
- Good communication skills
