About the Opportunity:
As the Meat Inspector reporting to the Senior Floor Supervisor, you will be responsible for inspecting products to ensure it meets Australian meat standards and specifications, as well as:
- Perform task as per Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service (AQIS) work instructions
- Identifying products fit for human consumption and exportation
- Comply with the Australian Export Meat Inspection System (AEMIS), to ensure the safety, suitability and integrity of products.
- Be responsible for identifying any type of contamination.
- Report all findings of any condemned product and perform corrective action with Supervisors and Quality Assurance team.
- Perform all duties in line with standards and requirements established by the Department of Agriculture.
About You
- Certificate IV Meat Processing (Meat Safety)
- Certificate III Meat Processing
- Sound technical knowledge of meat processing preferably pork
- Knowledge of Australian Meat standards and knowledge of food safety and hygiene practices
- Intermediate computer skills in excel, word and outlook
- Great communication and interpersonal skills
- The ability to work effectively in a team or individual environment
- Demonstrated commitment to follow, improve WH&S and quality
