But did you know we have 23 divisions, 135 sites nationally, employ nearly 3000 people and operate a fleet of over 2300!
We do more than collect the bin from your street we also; convert waste into clean energy, divert food waste from landfill and convert to compost, manufacture customised waste management equipment, asbestos removal, refine and recycle oil, manage and maintain our fleet inhouse and have our own bespoke technology systems.

ABOUT THE ROLE
As a JJ’s Trade Qualified HCV Mechanic, you will work on our variety of fleet vehicles in our Cairns depot.
With great facilities and a modern workshop this role is open to anyone local too Far North Queensland and interstate.
The role reports to the Cairns Workshop Manager and will be required to perform mechanical repairs, diagnostics and servicing of Heavy Vehicles, trailers and static equipment.
We are an essential services industry, offering stability to employees and reliability to our customers.
You will enjoy family friendly hours – no more DIDO or FIFO, as well as great pay rates - particularly for those interested in overtime or additional work on weekends! We will work with you to ensure your Work/Life Balance
Applications from 3rd or 4th year HV Apprentices also encouraged
ABOUT YOU
- Trade qualification as an HCV (Heavy Commercial Vehicle) Mechanic
- A preferred minimum of 2 years’ experience in Heavy Vehicle trucks & trailer / fleet maintenance
- Commitment to safety and high quality workmanship
- Ability to work independently, unsupervised and as part of a team
- Ability to learn new skills
- Be subject to a pre-employment medical, drug and alcohol testing
