EPSA is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to be employed by the company on a full-time permanent basis. This is your chance to unlock your full potential and make a lasting impact. You will work within a high performing team.
About the role
- Coordinate task planning with Operations Leadership to ensure technical accuracy.
- Serve as the technical point of contact for operations teams.
- Collaborate with internal and external engineering teams.
- Manage vendor communications for technical issue resolution.
- Provide technical guidance on process, mechanical, and structural tasks.
- Conduct site inspections and support offsite capital projects.
- Update drawings with site changes for design revisions.
- Assist with material and equipment procurement while ensuring compliance.
- Oversee regulatory compliance, including classified plant obligations.
- Ensure safe planning and completion of all activities.
- Develop preventive and predictive maintenance plans for all machines.
- Schedule maintenance interventions to minimise the impact on daily operations.
- Conduct diagnostics to identify the root cause of mechanical failures.
- Analyse equipment performance to anticipate potential failures and plan necessary component changes.
- Process and review oil sample data, discuss action plan with onsite Supervisors.
- Ensure that maintenance and repairs are performed according to technical specifications and safety standards.
- Produce monthly availability reports.
- Ensure the availability of critical components to prevent prolonged downtime.
- Review & forecast component life.
Lifestyle:
As the Mechanical Engineer you will be based on site at the Isaac Downs Mine, Moranbah, Queensland on a rotating 8/6 roster.
To be successful you will have:
- Certificate S11
- Current Australian Drivers Licence
- Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical Engineering
- Current Coal Board Medical or willingness to complete along with a Pre-Employment Medical Check
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering role
- Mining project experience including materials handling and process plants.
- Understanding of hydraulic calculations and pumping systems (water as minimum and slurry preferred)
- Proficiency in interpreting process documentation including P&ID’s, PFD’s and Process Design Criteria
- Ability to understand mechanical documentation, such as design drawings, equipment datasheets, and vendor IOMs.
- High computer literacy (operating systems, Office products, engineering tools).
