Form of workNIXSO is a Mechanical Engineering company specialising in design & build projects, structural condition assessments, ROPS / FOPS overhauls, VLC overhauls and laser scanning. We are excited to offer a Mechanical Engineer position to someone who would enjoy the challenge and satisfaction of designing equipment from concept to commissioning, or leading structural condition remediation works. NIXSO works with fixed and mobile plant in a range of industries including Quarrying, Concrete, Coal, Agriculture, and Civil.
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering Qualification
- Minimum 1 years’ experience in heavy industry (mining, quarrying, concrete, bulk materials handling etc)
- Graduates that can demonstrate practical experience and/or relevant work experience will be considered
- An understanding of Fabrication and Manufacturing concepts
- An understanding of applicable Standards and Guidelines relating to Mechanical and Structural Engineering
- Knowledge of fluid power systems – both hydraulic & pneumatic
- Proficient in Autodesk Inventor (Solidworks may be considered), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Onedrive)
- Background in FEA, preferably Inventor Nastran
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and ability to communicate directly with clients, suppliers and sub-contractors
- Driven to deliver exceptional projects on time and on budget
- Able to demonstrate practical experience
- Personal interest in technology such as automation, laser scanning, CNC equipment, automated workflows, machinery etc.
- Driver's license required
This position is for someone who is self-motivated and able to work remotely full time, minimum 38-hour week during business hours. Clickup and Teams software is used to remain connected remotely. Site visits will be required, predominantly Hunter region and other NSW locations less frequently, therefore the applicant is required to be based in this general region.
