Mechanical Engineer

Due to our ever expanding business an opportunity exists for a driven, reliable and professional full-time Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

The Mechanical Engineer is a full-time role within our busy workshop which involves the production of our Disc Chains along with a wide variety of custom projects.

The role will require applicants to:

Position Duties will include (but are not limited to)

• Contribute to the entire lifecycle of the machine design process, from planning and design to assembly and delivery.
• Produce 3D CAD models, detailed 2D manufacturing drawings and Bill of materials (BOM) using Autodesk Inventor.  
• Analyse mechanical design and continuously improve existing design and process. 
• Document design changes, revise design and project documents and coordinate their implementation. 
• Develop/revise installation, operation and troubleshooting manuals in compliance with engineering principles and safety regulations.
• Collaborate with team members across different departments, offering support and addressing questions when needed. 
• Liaise with suppliers and sub-contractors during design and production. 
• Initiate Purchase Orders and streamline procurement processes. 
• Produce weekly business reports and contribute to cost estimation and billing using ERP software. 
• Support Operations Director by reporting on tasks and assisting with additional responsibilities as assigned. 

Position Qualifications/Requirements

• A Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

Position Experience Required

• Proficiency with engineering design programs such as Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD. 
• Sound knowledge of design and engineering principles and best practices. 
• Exceptional technical and problem-solving skills and reasoning ability.
• Well-developed interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of a busy workshop environment.
• Displays each of the following attributes – excellent work ethic / dedication / punctual / initiative / personality / proactive / attention to detail / organised.
• Must be self-motivated and a great team worker.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills.
