Based in Townsville, Pacific Marine Group (PMG) is a growing business at the forefront of the Maritime Construction Industry. With over 180 employees working across Maritime, Dive & Construction industries, PMG prides itself on its ability to deliver high-quality outcomes for varied and complex projects in regional and remote areas across North Queensland and the South Pacific.
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team, with the following attributes:
Minimum Requirements for this role include the following:
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
• A Professional Engineering license, or actively working towards achieving one.
• Qualification and/or previous relevant experience in the maritime industry.
• Heavy Rigid Licence
• Willing to travel internationally
You will be required to have:
• Understanding of the Maritime Construction industry is highly desirable.
• Ability to develop and disseminate detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
• Knowledge of Tendering and Quotation processes
• The ability to work within tight deadlines, and effective communication with various stakeholders.
• Marine Piling Experience (Highly Desirable)
• Work closely with project managers and construction teams to coordinate the installation, commissioning, and maintenance process.
• Identify opportunities for optimization and improvement in existing systems and processes.
• Onsite experience with site management/coordination
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of engineering principles, safety regulations, and industry best practices.
• Experience in 3D modelling software (AutoCAD or other relevant software).
• Experience in estimating and proficiency in Estimating software (Expert Estimation) is highly desirable.
