Mechanical Engineering Technologist

New Age Upholstery is a leading Caravan Fitting and Upholstery business. Located in Campbellfield, we are a leading manufacturer of upholstery and fittings within the caravan industry, also producing fittings and restorations for home interiors and commercial businesses, including restaurants, bars, schools, hotels and offices. We enjoy an excellent reputation in the industry with over 20 years' experience in custom made furniture and fittings.
We are now seeking a qualified and experienced Mechanical Engineering Technologist with an eye for detail, to join the team.
Broadly, your responsibilities will include:
- Use AUTOCAD software to design Caravan Layouts & Specifications according to the customer requirements.
- Create a furniture library and drape and arrange furniture parts according to caravan layouts per customers requirements.
- Dealing closely with clients regarding their requirements and plans.
- Use Biesse works editor to design tool paths and arrange that files to the CNC operator.
- Make purchasing orders using correct measurement technical engineering input ( benchtop sizes, furniture sizes, lounge design etc. )
- Maintain and Update New Age Upholstery system.
- Work with manufacturing team to investigate and resolve problems with existing designs.
- Other reasonable tasks/duties as required by the business.
The ideal candidate must have:

• A Mechanical Engineering degree or higher qualifications, plus at least three year's relevant experience in a similar industry or environment, where fine detail for production, fitting and assembly is paramount

• Ability to work autonomously or within a team

• Strong safety focus
