About the role:
The Drake Group is currently embarking on an exciting period of transformation and growth and as such, we are now accepting applications from experienced Mechanical Fitters to join our Service and Repairs team based in Wacol! With over 60 years of combined engineering and manufacturing experience, we create cutting-edge, high-quality products for both local and international markets.
As a Mechanical Fitteryou will be joining a specialised team dedicated to maintaining and repairing heavy haulage trailers and components including Hydraulics, Air Systems and Electrics.
Your key responsibilities:
- Service and repairs to a range of customer trailers types
- Major overhauls from top to bottom in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Perform mechanical repairs including braking systems, suspensions, and other components.
- Conduct regular service interval inspections and quality checks
- Carry out warranty works as requested to new trailers
- Rebuild suspension components to support Service Exchange programme
- Adhere to safety guidelines and promote a culture of safety within the workshop
- Ensure precision and accuracy in all fabrication processes to meet quality standards
What we are looking for:
- Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification (or similar)
- Previous experience in the heavy manufacturing industry
- Knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and pneumatics
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Ability to operate various tooling in a safe and efficient manner
