We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join the team at our Wacol facility in the Western Suburbs of Brisbane. Wacol is bounded to the west by the Brisbane River, 18 kilometres south-west of Brisbane CBD. This position is on Afternoon Shift (3pm - 11pm) with regular opportunities for overtime.
Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- To ensure maximum equipment uptime is achieved by providing effective and efficient mechanical preventative and breakdown maintenance.
- Engage in making, fitting or repairing mechanical machines, instruments or appliances.
- Ensure that all mechanical work is carried out to meet the Company safety and housekeeping requirements and conforms to all relevant regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to identify faults with the ability to troubleshoot and rectify problems.
- Providing mechanical support to day shift and Afternoon Shift as required.
- Other responsibilities that may come up, such as working on projects.
About you:
- Certificate III or above qualifications in hydraulics or pneumatics; and/or
- Certificate IV Engineering Mechanical Special Class; and/or
- Certificate IV Fluid Power (Pneumatics)
- Ability to MIG and TIG Weld Stainless steel highly desired.
- Forklift Ticket highly desired
- Effective and efficient fault finding and diagnostic skills.
- Thorough understanding and knowledge of WHS regulations/procedures.
- Confined Space and BA Competence highly desired.
- Experience in maintenance/repair in a fast-paced modern manufacturing environment FMCG (food experience would be highly regarded although not essential)
