Our Malaga Workshop is a purpose built Centre of Excellence facility for the overhaul, re-build and testing of EMD locomotive Engines in Western Australia.
About the role
This position requires the successful candidate to perform large engine overhaul and repairs on primarily 12 and 16 cylinder Locomotive Engines and their associated equipment within the facility to OEM Requirements. This includes: Dismantling, Component inspection, precision measurement (use of micrometers), assembly and other tasks as required.
About you
- Ability to read, comprehend and apply technical drawings.
- High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
- Ability and willingness to further your knowledge and skills with additional training.
- High level record keeping ability.
- Knowledge and understanding of diesel/electric locomotive engines desirable.
- Ability to work shifts and overtime as required.
Skills and experience
- Trade qualifications (Mechanical or suitable related disciplines).
- Experience with testing/fault finding highly regarded.
- Previous experience working within a heavy maintenance/ asset management environment is desirable.
- Can do attitude with a focus on safety and WH&S implementation.
