About the role

This position requires the successful candidate to perform overhaul and repairs on a large & varied fleet of locomotives. This includes: Servicing of locomotives, dismantling, inspection, component changeout, pneumatic system testing, assembly and other tasks as required.

About you

• Ability to read, comprehend and apply technical drawings.
• High level of communication and interpersonal skills.
• High level of problem solving skills and the ability to work as part of a dynamic team.
• Ability and willingness to further your knowledge and skills with additional training.
• High level record keeping ability.
• Knowledge and understanding of diesel/electric locomotive engines desirable.
• Ability to work shifts and overtime as required.

Skills and experience

• Trade qualifications (Mechanical or suitable related disciplines).
• Locomotive experience advantageous but not essential. We are willing to train the right candidate.
• Previous experience working within a heavy maintenance/ asset management environment preferred but not essential.
• Certified competency as a forklift operator, overhead crane driver and/or welder would be advantageous but not essential.
