We are seeking a Mechanical Fitter to join our Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance team.

The Opportunity
As the Mechanical Fitter you will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, repair and operational functions of all mechanical assets within Hunter Water's area of interest.
What you'll do:
- Planned and corrective maintenance, condition assessment, fault finding/ diagnosis and rectification of mechanical equipment
- Working and liaising with contractors, apprentices and other internal Hunter Water staff.
- Ensure safe work procedures are followed by all staff including undertaking site-specific risk assessments and inductions for staff and/or contractors.
- Completion and submission of statutory paperwork (or digital form) including but not limited to confined space permits, hot work permits, permit to work
- Accurate initiation and completion of all relevant documentation in Field Service Model (FSM), Ellipse, and TRIM, in a timely and appropriate manner
- Participate in an after-hours response roster if required.
What you'll need to be successful:
Essential Criteria:
- Current Mechanical Trade certificate
- Class MR Driver's license (or higher)
- Leadership training
- Construction Induction card
- Demonstrated minimum 4 years' experience in the Mechanical Trade field
- Sound knowledge of technical and WHS requirements in order to achieve satisfactory completion of works allocated
- Demonstrated skills with mechanical maintenance systems
Desirable Criteria:
- Knowledge of water and wastewater equipment, system and processes
- Hold current training/licences in some or all of the training competencies outlined in the Position Description.
- Holding training competencies will be highly regarded but is not essential; where training is not held the successful candidate must be willing and able to complete all training required
