Superior Wood is a family owned company operating an Advanced Timber processing operation in the Mary Valley, SW of Gympie.Through the plants at Imbil and Melawondi, Plantation Araucaria is processed into High Value Products for Domestic and Export markets.
Our operations include Sawmilling, Kiln Drying and High Speed Automated Scanning, Cutting and Moulding Lines.
Job tasks and responsibilities
- The preparation and undertaking of preventative and corrective maintenance activities
- Active participation in both the maintenance and development of preventative and predictive maintenance
- Recommend / suggest changes to plant and procedures in order to improve online performance and efficiencies.
- Ability to identify technical issues and recommend improvements / assist with rectification.
Skills and experience
- A trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter with preventative maintenance and fault finding experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics and materials handling equipment as well as sound welding and fabrication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A current manual driver's license is essential.
- HRW license for Forklift, Confined Space, Working at Heights, EWP and First Aid all highly regarded.
