About the Role
Exciting opportunities have arisen for Mechanical Fitters to join Loy Yang’s Mine Maintenance team. You will be responsible for mechanical maintenance, planning, fault analysis and preventative maintenance while ensuring the safe, reliable and economic operation of the Mine plant. We have positions available on a 9-day fortnight & 2x12 roster.
What you’ll be doing
- Fault finding on heavy mining equipment.
- Following scheduled planned / breakdown maintenance and carrying out inspections on equipment as required with a high attention to detail and strong work ethic.
- Scoping and creating SAP notifications for preventative work where required and the ability prioritise daily work.
- Execute work orders as per schedule and to a high standard to mitigate any re-work.
- Completing inspections and repairs as per the maintenance strategies and inline with site requirements to ensure a high quality of work.
- Initiating and approving material requests and expediting work orders.
- Providing instruction, direction and coordination to ensure resources are fully utilised.
- Ensuring that all HSE systems and goals are introduced and adhered to.
About You
This opportunity will suit a Mechanical Fitter, ideally with exposure to a Mine/Heavy Industrial setting who are looking for an ongoing/permanent role to further their career.
What you’ll bring to the table
- Mechanical Fitting trade qualification or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience working in maintenance related heavy industry.
- Experience in open-cut mining and associated equipment is advantageous.
- Demonstrated understanding of maintenance activities and processes.
- Well-developed communication skills with the ability to relay information accurately.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to assess plant problems, identify options available and determine appropriate solutions.
- Strong diagnostic and trouble shooting skills.
- Adaptable to change and able to improvise safely with a focus on continuous improvement.
