Job Title: Maintenance Manager & Production Specialist (Day shift)

Position Overview: We are in search of someone with a Mechanical Maintenance background, and a keen interest in mastering the setup, configuration, and operation of extrusion machinery. While PRIOR EXPERIENCE IN PLASTIC EXTRUSION is beneficial, it is NOT MANDATORY, as we highly value candidates with a strong desire to learn and problem-solve. The selected candidate will manage the maintenance of plant/equipment and play a pivotal role in ensuring the maintenance and support of production.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Mechanical Maintenance:
- Leverage a STRONG MECHANICAL MAINTENANCE BACKGROUND to perform repair and maintenance tasks and supervise external trades and contractors.
- Ensure the proper functioning of all plant and equipment.
2. Production Efficiency and Continuity:
- Assume a crucial role in maintaining the efficiency and continuity of our production lines.
- Develop and manage maintenance schedules to minimise downtime.
- Collaborate closely with the production team to facilitate seamless transitions between product runs.
3. Extrusion Die Setup and Configuration:
- Acquire proficiency in the setup, configuration and running of extrusion dies.
- Collaborate with the production team to troubleshoot and optimise production.
4. Production Support:
- Contribute to running extrusion processes, actively participating in process optimisation.
- Monitor and adjust parameters to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
- Provide training to production staff on die setup, production start-up, troubleshooting procedures, and best practices.
Background & Qualifications:
- Maintenance background with strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills are required.
- Possess the ability to weld and operate lathe, surface grinder, and milling machine.
- PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE IN EXTRUSIONS OR INJECTION MOULDING IS NOT NESSARY as on-job training will be provided.
- Ability to work collaboratively in teams and independently.
