Agnico Eagle owns and operates the Fosterville Gold Mine which is located on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, approximately 20 kilometres east of Bendigo in Central Victoria. Surface Maintenance – Boilermaker
Fosterville Gold Mine invites suitably qualified and experienced individuals to apply for the position of Surface Maintenance – Boilermaker. The primary purpose of this role is to provide boilermaking skills to the Surface Maintenance team for the control of corrosion throughout the surface operating area infrastructure.
Reporting to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisors, your primary duties will include:
- General metal fabrication, oxy/plasma cutting and welding tasks
- Interpretation of engineering drawings
- Maintaining the welding equipment and machine tooling
- Recording all work completed using the site CMMS (Pronto)
- Work closely with the Mechanical Maintenance Foreperson and Supervisors to identify, plan, execute and communicate corrosion control activities throughout the surface operating areas
- Engage with all Fosterville Gold Mine employees, contractors and consultants to assist with rectification and improvement works
- Proactively engage and participate in safety related initiatives
- Adherence to Fosterville Gold Mine safety and operational procedures
The successful candidate should possess the following:
- Minimum 5 years demonstrated experience in heavy industry boilermaking/welding/metal fabrication techniques
- Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade (MEM30319)
- Competent in the use of MMAW, GMAW, GTAW, Oxy Acetylene equipment and machine tooling
- A strong desire to improve their skills, impart knowledge to other team members and help us to provide a safe place to work
The roster for this residential position is 5/2, 4/3
A competitive rate will be offered in line with the relevant classification contained in the Fosterville Enterprise Agreement 2021
