The opportunity:
Reporting to, and supporting the Maintenance & Reliability Manager and working alongside plant leaders and maintenance teams, this key role is accountable for the implementation of engineering best practises for the paper mill.
This role is very technical and requires a sound knowledge in, bearing, boiler and lubrication maintenance and repairs. This position will provide technical calculations and resolutions to complex plant faults and breakdowns ensuring operations is at peak capacity and consistent.
The key responsibilities:
- Lead excellence in plant condition monitoring through participation / auditing of mechanical rounds completion and quality.
- Develop proactive and preventative maintenance initiatives through implementation of engineering analysis of plant performance.
- Improve plant productivity through 360 degree approach of:
- Identification of plant malfunctions.
- Development of preventative maintenance strategies/regimes.
- Contribute to effective shut planning and implementation via development of detail scope of works, parts procurement, and communication with tradesmen.
- Investigate failures using Root Cause Analysis techniques, design and implement corrective and preventive solutions to eliminate the cause or to reduce the likelihood of failure.
- Contribute to spares management effort through identification of redundant parts, critical spares not been replenished, creation of material requests, part description integrity.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering/Maintenance Engineering (Must Be Australian Recognised)
- Minimum 5 years' postgraduate experience within a Reliability & Maintenance team
- Previous Proven Experience in Manufacturing, Mining or other similar Heavy industry
- Knowledge and experience, with boilers, bearings and lubricant systems
- Strong Technical Engineering Aptitude
- Root cuase analysis skills
- Supervison of internal and external trades
- Monthly and annual planned maintenance shutdowns
