Mechanical Project Engineer

Resourceful is thrilled to partner with a respected Mining Engineering Services consultancy as they embark on a strategic growth journey. We have taken the time to deeply understand this exceptional team and company to allow us to align their values with yours, as the new Mechanical Project Engineer.This firm provides engineering, drafting, visualisation and project management services specifically for the mining sector and has long-standing relationships with all the major operators. Their areas of specialisation cover all engineering disciplines with a specific focus on underground and surface mine equipment infrastructure.There is an immediate opportunity for a Mechanical Project Engineer who will form part of a team who are responsible for the detailed engineering and installation of various underground assets with associate equipment. You will be based out of the corporate office in Brisbane and travel to regional Queensland to oversee some aspects of the installation on the mine site.You will be responsible for:

• Development of suitable Scope of Works documentation for detailed design and installation purposes.
• Effective scheduling of project tasks and communication of scheduling interactions, priorities, milestones, risks & opportunities.
• Coordinate the generation of the drafting for the standard arrangement drawings with the in-house drafting team.
• Having involvement into the Standard arrangement drawings for equipment installation
• Interface with the site surveyor focusing on 'ground truth' for the existing works.
• Actively promote, seek out and participate in a drive for continuous improvement.
• Review any innovations and as applicable apply them to the project to increase productivity, reduce cost and increase profitability.

It is also important that you have/can demonstrate:

• Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer that has been recognised by Engineers Australia
• Ideally RPEQ or a willingness to obtain it through the support of this firm.
• Gained experience both in design along site installation.
• Competency with project planning software, and have the ability to generate project plans and schedules.
• Attention to detail, accuracy and ability to follow processes closely.
• A positive attitude, and ability to work as part of a supportive and harmonious team.
