Currently an exciting opportunity exists in Geelong for aMechanical ReliabilityEngineer to join the Godfrey Hirst Engineering Team.
About the Role
This is a varied and challenging role, no two days areguaranteed to be the same, with opportunities to work with a widerange of machinery and diverse reliability & improvementprojects, ensuring that you are exposed to many facets of thecarpet manufacturing process & utilising all elements of yourEngineering skillset.
Working within the Engineering & Maintenance team andalongside the site Reliability Engineer, this role offers a uniqueopportunity to learn Reliability Engineering within a manufacturingenvironment, developing your existing mechanical & Engineeringskillset and providing a pathway to becoming the sites principalReliability Engineer.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading maintenance and reliability improvement strategies for fixed plant, facilities & machinery.
- Managing contracts associated with fixed plant & facilities maintenance.
- Providing day to day management and direction onsite maintenance teams and contract maintenance personnel whilst planning and undertaking maintenance activities.
- Monitor, update and maintain the sites CMMS to ensure ongoing effective management of maintenance strategies.
- Lead problem solving activities for manufacturing process, facilities infrastructure and plant & equipment failures.
- Develop Engineering designs for the modification, safety upgrades & performance improvement of existing plant & equipment.
- Manage small capital & non-capital reliability improvement projects.
- Undertake spare parts criticality assessments, ensuring appropriate inventories of spare parts are maintained.
- Manage & lead annual maintenance shutdowns at the site throughout the December / January and July shutdown periods.
- Provide technical support & expertise to Production personnel and maintenance team members.
About You
- You will have a relevant tertiary qualification in Engineering with a major in Mechanical Engineering, with either 2 years post graduate experience or 5+ years of experience in a qualified trade role.
- You must have basic to intermediate knowledge of design and visualisations software such as AutoCAD & Inventor and an intermediate level of MS Office skills.
- You will have similar experience working within a manufacturing or industrial maintenance environment, including working alongside & leading maintenance or subcontract personnel. Experience & exposure to reliability techniques & methods and maintenance management, via a CMMS such as SAP or JDE, is strongly preferred, but not essential.
The successful candidate will have strong communication skills, ademonstrated high level of mechanical aptitude, work well in a teamenvironment and a can-do attitude with strong accuracy andattention to detail, combined with excellent time management andthe ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
