Mechanical Reliability & Maintenance Engineer

Drake Trades and Technical is delighted to present a career-defining opportunity for a seasoned Mechanical ReliabilityMaintenance Engineer at our Global Leading clients recycling & manufacturing facility in Coolaroo VIC. This role focuses on maximizing the reliability and performance of the plants mechanical systems and utilities essential in transforming recycled paper waste into high-quality pulp and paper products.

Key Responsibilities:

• System Maintenance and Optimisation: Ensure the continuous operation of critical plant equipment, including boilers, steam systems, and other mechanical utilities.
• Preventative and Reactive Maintenance: Implement and manage preventative maintenance schedules; swiftly respond to and resolve equipment failures to minimize downtime.
• Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA): Lead efforts to investigate breakdowns and system inefficiencies to prevent future occurrences.
• Support and Collaboration: Provide technical support to maintenance teams, aiding in complex repairs and promoting best practices in maintenance strategies.
• Innovation and Problem Solving: Develop solutions to enhance system reliability and efficiency. Tackle complex problems and devise innovative approaches that improve plant operations.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar, recognised by Australian engineering accreditation bodies.
• Experience: At least 5+ years of experience in a similar role within the paper industry, with a proven track record of improving plant reliability and performance.
• Skills: In-depth knowledge of mechanical systems used in pulp and paper manufacturing, expertise in RCFA, and strong capabilities in both preventative and reactive maintenance.
• Personal Qualities: Exceptional problem-solving skills, innovative thinking, and the ability to lead and influence maintenance teams effectively.
