UGL Services, Fuels & Energy East are seeking applications from an experienced Mechanical Supervisor for an upcoming permanent opportunity on a live LNG facility. This position will join a well-established Projects Team on a recently extended contract. Based on Curtis Island, off the coast of Gladstone local applicants are strongly encouraged to apply.
The primary functions of this role will include the following
- Review and validate all Mechanical job package activities and deliverables
- Provide leadership and expertise to the workgroup
- Work with Engineers and Specialists to ensure scope, ITP's, technical queries and material requirements are clear and concise
- Liaise with Logistics to ensure materials meet the scheduled delivery dates
- Assist with scope estimates for execution activities
- Develop detailed SAP work orders, operation steps, materials and drawings
- Develop and submit SAP Permits / JHA requirements for each scope
- Develop high quality job packs, provide status updates and maintain up to date job pack tracking
- Participate in schedule optimisation and SIMOP sessions
- Effectively communicate with Supervisors and other team members
- Lead delivery of scope execution by providing schedule updates, communicate priorities and job pack closeout
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- LNG or related industry shutdown experience
- Minimum qualification is trade background / Diploma in mechanical engineering
- 5 years' experience in shutdown and / or maintenance planning, project management systems, with additional skills in word processing, spreadsheet applications
- Prior relevant experience in a related heavy or complex processing industry on large mechanical equipment including rotating drives, centrifugal pumps, reciprocating compressors and pumps, utility compression equipment, piping systems
- Experienced in the use of process flow diagrams, Piping & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID), schematics, piping drawings, fabrication drawings, isometrics, equipment datasheets, sketches, charts
- Exposure to welding, pipefitting and fabrication techniques and best practices
- Demonstrated understanding of mechanical standards and best operating practices
- Desirable/Preferred Skills
- Industry related certificates or qualifications
- Proficiency in the use of SAP, Microsoft Office suite, and document management systems
Sound comprehensive base knowledge in mechanical discipline with a strong knowledge base of control valves, rotating equipment, vessels & heat exchangers, flange management
