About the Opportunity
SafeWork SA (SWSA) is responsible for providing work health and safety, public safety and state-based industrial relations services across South Australia. As a regulator, Investigators and Inspectors ensure work health and safety, and public safety standards are met and appropriate action is taken when breaches of laws are detected.
The primary purpose of the Mechatronic (Electrical) Engineer is to provide high-level mechanical engineering support services: technical regulatory advice, review of high-risk plant design and item registrations, review of new and existing electrical equipment, WHS compliance, enforcement and prevention activities in the areas of plant safety and machine safeguarding. This may involve workplace inspections; assist field inspectorial staff in the investigation of incidents involving complex plant / mechanical systems, provide high-level written advice / reports and correspondence.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificate clearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Successful applicants will be provided further information if an interview is requested. Forms are not to be lodged directly with SA Police (SAPOL) under any circumstances and any fees incurred by applicants in doing so will not be recoverable from the AGD.
Some intra and interstate travel requiring overnight absences may be required.
Possession of a minimum Class C driver’s licence is essential
Will be required to take part in the on-call roster
A Corporate wardrobe is supplied and must be worn in line with SafeWork SA Dress and Personal Protection Policy.
