About the Opportunity
SafeWork SA (SWSA) is responsible for providing work health andsafety, public safety and state-based industrial relations servicesacross South Australia. As a regulator, Investigators andInspectors ensure work health and safety, and public safetystandards are met and appropriate action is taken when breaches oflaws are detected.
The primary purpose of the Mechatronic (Electrical) Engineer isto provide high-level mechanical engineering support services:technical regulatory advice, review of high-risk plant design anditem registrations, review of new and existing electricalequipment, WHS compliance, enforcement and prevention activities inthe areas of plant safety and machine safeguarding. This mayinvolve workplace inspections; assist field inspectorial staff inthe investigation of incidents involving complex plant / mechanicalsystems, provide high-level written advice / reports andcorrespondence.

Special Conditions for Employment
Employment is dependent upon a National Police Certificateclearance that the AGD finds satisfactory. Some intra and interstate travel requiring overnight absencesmay be required.
Possession of a minimum Class C driver’s licence isessential
Will be required to take part in the on-call roster
