ABOUT THE ROLE
Cruise Whitsundays is seeking a Marine Vessel Engineer (MED 1) to join the team on a casual basis. The successful candidate will, through relevant procedures, be responsible to maintain the safe mechanical operations of vessels ensuring all repairs are conducted safely and efficiently.
Your days might include:
- Perform daily engine and machinery checks on assigned vessels
- Alongside the Master, management and safe operations of the vessel in accordance with policies and procedures
- Diagnose system problems as and when they occur
- Ensure all maintenance requirements and ramifications are recorded
- Coordinate and maintain effective vessel preventative maintenance programs
- Accurately maintain logs and work orders through to job completion and sign off
- Assist with securing vessels at the various marinas and island jetties
- Be involved in safety drill practices as required by the Master
- Assist with guest experience duties including meeting and greeting of guests
ABOUT YOU
To be successful in this role, you will have the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team with excellent communication and problem solving skills. You will have demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments and introducing practical safety measures. The ideal candidate will be an experience Marine Engineer preferably within the Marine Tourism industry.
