Position: Medical Device Kit Assembler

Full time

Salary: $65,000 – $80,000 per year

Wells Medical WA is a Medical Sales and Distribution business based in Jolimont, Perth. Our core business is representing Corin Australia, a UK based orthopaedic implant and technology supplier, as their Distributor in Western Australia. Corin's best in class OPSInsight dynamic hip simulation technology has  changed the way that orthopaedics plans total hip replacement. As a result Corin have rocketed to the second most used total hip replacements in Australia with rapidly growing market share. Additionally we represent DeSoutter Medical, a UK based quality medical power tools manufacturer and supplier. We also act as a sales agent for Wilhelm, a bespoke Sydney based hospital theatre installation services and medical technology provider.  

Wells Medical WA runs a comprehensive clean warehouse for the management of the products that we distribute. We also provide a highly experienced and skilled sales and support service representing our suppliers to the hospitals and surgeons that we work with.

The role

When a patient requires orthopaedic surgery, a Medical Device loan set containing instruments and implants is required to conduct the procedure. These loan sets, with several equipment pieces, are assembled, and inspected by our team, before heading out of our clean office warehouse to the hospital and eventually the surgeon’s operating theatre. This Kit Assembler role will be integral to our small warehouse team which is responsible for this precess from beginning to end.

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude, an attention to detail and accuracy as well as a process focused mind. We can provide all the training you need, as long as you bring the right attitude.

Tasks & responsibilities: 

  • Support the sales team in the accurate and timely dispatch of all surgical instruments and implant sets to meet surgeon/customer needs.
  • Assembling, receiving and dispatching loan sets for surgery. 
  • Liaising with sales team to determine surgical requirements.
  • Communicate with hospitals and the sales team regarding any requirements for cases.
  • Enter, maintain, and update surgeon preferences as requested by the sales team to ensure accurate kit supply information.
  • Participate in and adhere to stock control processes, including stocktake, managing expired items, and handling excess inventory.
  • Make deliveries to and pick up from hospitals as required.

Skills: 

  • Be a great team member. We all want to work with people we like.
  • Warehousing or Loan Kit Experience within the Medical Device industry or experience as a Sterilisation/Instrumentation Technician would be viewed favourably but are not required.
  • Be process-driven, ability to problem solve, with high attention to detail.  
  • Good communication skills and collaboration.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced and pressured environment.
  • Strong work ethic, reliable and punctual.
  • High level of computer literacy. 
  • Some exposure to Inventory and stock control.
  • Ability to work autonomously consistent and complete tasks to high level of accuracy.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and work under pressure to meet client deadlines.
