Access theThe successful candidate will apply scientific judgement in the analysis of patient specimens leading to the verification and validation of test results and the provision of advice to the clinical unit where appropriate to ensure that the microbiology and molecular services meet the requirements of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS), commensurate with level of experience.Key competencies (role specific criteria)You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated knowledge, expertise and skill in the delivery of scientific/technical judgement within a microbiology and molecular laboratory.
- Demonstrated interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively as a member of a microbiology and molecular team.
- Demonstrated ability to apply established principles to a microbiology and molecular service with provision of results and clinical advice in a client focused manner.
- Demonstrated ability (or ability to rapidly acquire the skill) to identify, develop and implement quality and service improvement activities in accordance with NATA/ISO accreditation/certification.
- The successful applicant must hold at least a tertiary degree (or equivalent) formal qualification(s) in Medical Laboratory science.
- The position advertised is shift and will be required to work days and evenings on a rotating roster over a 7 day period.
- To be eligible for permanent appointment to Pathology Queensland applicants must provide proof of Australian citizenship or permanent residency. To be eligible for temporary appointment applicants must provide proof that they can legally work in Australia.
