Position Description
Our practice is comprised of a Cardiothoracic Surgeon, a General Physician and a Respiratory Specialist. Our rooms are located within St Vincent’s Private Hospital Northside, Chermside.
We are looking for an experienced part-time Medical Receptionist 3 – 4 days per week who is committed to providing the highest quality administrative services. The ability to prioritise workload whilst working under pressure during busy periods and within a team environment is key to this role. The successful candidate will possess a professional, caring and friendly attitude and always have a positive and enthusiastic approach to tasks. Highly developed communication skills and a strong customer focus are essential. You can work independently, be part of a busy team and show a high level of attention to detail. Our practice utilises Genie and Gentu Medical Software and applicants familiar with this program will be highly regarded.
Key Duties:
- Provide reception, administrative services and support to patients and doctors
- Schedule appointments and booking operations
- Handle incoming and outgoing calls
- All facets of patient invoicing and payments – Medicare, DVA and health fund billing - manually and through Eclipse
- Medical Typing - Clinical Letters and Operation Reports
- Liaising with GP’s, Cardiologists and other medical doctors and staff
- Banking and weekly reports
- Scanning and filing documents
Essential Requirements:
- Cardiac/Cardiology medical terminology and knowledge (highly regarded)
- Medical typing (highly regarded)
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Professional, caring and friendly attitude towards patients, doctors and staff
- Ability to work independently, show initiative and prioritise work
- Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
- Strong working knowledge of Genie/Gentu, MS Word and other Windows based software systems and Microsoft Outlook
- Research and data management experience
