Job description

South Melbourne Maxillofacial Surgery is seeking a full-time Medical Receptionist. The medical receptionist will work directly with the Maxillofacial Surgeon and will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the practice, seeing to the needs of our patients as well as the surgeon.  

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable and motivated candidate to fill the position within our practice.

What you must have:

  • Excellent phone manner and patient care
  • Possess excellent typing skills with attention to detail and accuracy 
  • Ability to work unsupervised and independently
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • An efficient and organised manner
  • Experience in dental or maxillofacial surgery preferred
  • Experience in Genie software preferred, but not essential

Responsibilities include:

  • Open and Close procedures
  • Management of answering machine / email / post
  • Answering phones
  • Greeting patients 
  • Basic data entry
  • Booking and diary management 
  • Hospital list bookings and management
  • Filing / Scanning / Stock management
  • Invoicing and banking
  • Liaising with Surgeon
