This is a Fixed Term Part Time appointment at 15.2 hours per fortnight, for 6 months with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency.

About us

Next Step is the leading government drug and alcohol treatment service in Western Australia providing a range of clinical services. The treatment services provided by Next Step include:

  • Outpatient services at East Perth and via integrated Community Alcohol and Drug Services at six metropolitan locations
  • The Inpatient Withdrawal Unit at East Perth
  • An onsite pharmacy service based at East Perth
  • Outpatient and inpatient youth services via the Integrated Drug and Alcohol Youth Service.
  • Community programs including the Community Pharmacotherapy Program and the Clinical Advisory Service.

About You

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Medical Records Officer to join this highly specialised service that embraces a multidisciplinary approach to its care.

You will be:

  • Passionate about working in drug and alcohol treatment services
  • Able to understand and act within key boundaries and maintain a professional relationship with clients
  • Flexible, adaptable and capable of learning within challenging environments
  • Experienced in working with clients with challenging and complex presentations
  • Enthusiastic for working in a multidisciplinary environment

About the Role

The Medical Records Officer performs the activities of the Medical Records, Reception and Switchboard areas to ensure an efficient and effective clinical support service.

In undertaking the role of this position, the occupant will need to recognise that there is a commitment to focussing on the needs of the individual, their families, carers or advocates working in partnership for better outcomes in relation to mental health, alcohol and other drug issues.
