The health service covers a population of approximately 116,000, across two major sites located approximately 50km apart.The medical services across the region are based across two hospitals, a private hospital is co-located at one site that facilitates private practice for many of the region’s specialists. The department of Medicine has a team of eight general medicine physicians across the region currently providing general medicine services.You will be based in a 95 bed facility that offers general and specialist health services including 24-hour emergency department, general medicine day surgery and endoscopy, rehabilitation, palliative care and oncology services along with a variety of specialist clinics.The hospital has close ties with the University of Tasmania through the Rural Clinical School and with TAFE Tasmania thus providing opportunities for comprehensive clinical training programs.The Job
- The Medical Registrar will be responsible for the day-to-day management of private and public inpatients and outpatients including providing after-hours emergency.
- You will be responsible for the admission and care of patients in liaison with Specialist Medical Staff.
- Registrars will attend specialist ward rounds and record all decisions made in the medical history.
- You will provide supervision of Residents, Interns and Medical Students.
- These positions are fixed term, full time, shift work, working 76 hours per fortnight to commencing from October 2024 until February 2026.
- Salary from $131,000 - $183,500 per annum plus benefits
