North West Hospital Cardiology / North Brisbane Cardiology is a well-established locally based cardiology practice that provides high quality cardiological testing and consulting. Comprised of highly trained Cardiac Specialists and Scientists who have extensive training in Australia and overseas.
Our aim is to provide patients with an easily accessible service to cater to all their cardiology needs with an emphasis on prompt and attentive care. We cover all aspects of clinical cardiology including cardiac imaging, stress testing, invasive coronary angiography, coronary intervention/stenting, cardiomyopathies, heart failure and pulmonary and systemic hypertension.
We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic, energetic, and highly organised person to join our friendly administration team.
If you are an extraordinary person who can demonstrate a solid background of Medical Specialist experience or Senior Administration experience in a GP practice or working in a similar role (Cardiology would be highly regarded).
Full training will be provided. Flexibility with hours and locations is a must. The role will be permanent / part time (3 days per week) with view to full time.
THE ROLE
Duties and responsibilities:
- Sharing all reception and administrative duties under the direction of the Operations Manager.
- Processing all patient billing and submitting invoices online via Medicare, Department of Veterans Affairs and Eclipse inpatient billing.
- Preparation of clinics.
- Processing all incoming/outgoing correspondence via Medical Objects.
- Managing all incoming phone calls and booking patient appointments. Taking messages to ensure accuracy of detail and prompt appropriate delivery.
- Scanning all patient information to electronic charts and ensuring completion of all associated paperwork in accordance with practice protocols.
- Ensure that all new patients are registered onto the computer system promptly and accurately.
- Ensure an effective and efficient reception service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice.
- Complete other daily, weekly and monthly core tasks to support the smooth running of the reception area.
- Understand the importance of patient confidentiality.
KEY ATTRIBUTES:
To be a great fit for this position, it would be highly desirable if you have the following:
- Impeccable attention to detail along with a proven record of experience working in a demanding specialist practice.
- You need to be able to work well within a team as well as independently.
- Ability to prioritise and multitask and work well in a busy environment.
- Strong computer skills including medical practice management software (Shexie experience will be highly regarded), Microsoft Outlook and Word.
- Excellent customer service skills including an extremely pleasant, friendly and empathetic attitude when dealing with our patients.
- Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, varying communication style depending upon the audience - written, phone and face to face.
- Flexible, mature attitude along with a relaxed sense of humour.
