The Women's & Children's Health Network provides state of the art health care for women, babies, children and young people across South Australia. We are the state's leading provider of specialist care for children with acute and chronic conditions as well as being South Australia's largest maternity and obstetric service, and statewide Maternal Fetal Medicine service.
Our community-based services also reach hundreds of thousands of babies, children and young people, their families and communities across South Australia through our various services and programs in areas such as our Mental Health, Child & Family Health services, Youth Health and Aboriginal Health services.
The Department of Paediatric Dentistry provides dental services for children including dental assessment and treatment for children requiring management in hospital, dental care for children under general anaesthetic and emergency after hours treatment.

The Opportunity
An exciting opportunity exists within Paediatric Dentistry to join us as Medical Unit Head, DO5.
In this role, you will:
- Provide leadership and governance of the Dental clinical activities of the WCHN, setting clinical direction including the development and implementation of plans and monitoring and reporting of clinical objectives and development of Policies, Procedures and Clinical Practice Guidelines.
- Provide clinical leadership and contributes to skill development of clinical staff to meet paediatric dental service requirements.
- Provide general and emergency oral health care to eligible paediatric patients who present with dental diseases and oral health care problems of complex nature.
- Encourage and support teamwork and coordination amongst staff for optimal clinical service outcomes. Maintain a program of quality and safety improvement through continuing professional development, department meetings and departmental audits.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Registration as a Dentist or Dental Specialist with the Dental Board of Australia
- Demonstrated ability to take provide clinical leadership and influence clinicians in their provision of paediatric dental services
- Demonstrated ability to provide direction and guidance to staff, clients, students and professional groups
- Experience in leading and management of a clinical team in a public sector environment
