The SoundLab Music School is always seeking experienced Music Teachers to join our team, to teach on an ongoing contract basis currently we are looking to fill GUITAR and VIOLIN teaching roles at our St Kilda location under the iconic The Astor Theatre!
The SoundLab is a locally owned school & store located. The SoundLab established in 2009, has a longstanding reputation within the community for friendly, thorough service and expertise in music education.
The successful applicants’ duties will include teaching half hour and hour duration one-on-one lessons, lesson preparation, liaising with parents on student progress, setting goals/objectives with students and assigning homework.
All administration (ie booking students, timetables and payment) is organised by The SoundLab administration staff on your behalf.
Required attributes:
- Applicants must have completed a Bachelor degree or equivalent diploma in music.
- Applicants with previous teaching experience will be highly considered. Experience teaching VCE, AMEB and ANZCA exam syllabus also favoured.
- Must be able to read both notation & tab (Guitar, Bass, Piano, Drums)
- Ability to teach online from home using ZOOM if required.
- Friendly, down-to-earth and professional at all times.
- Confident interacting with students and parents of all ages and abilities. Reliable, organised and punctual.
- Tidy, professional presentation.
Required licenses & certification:
- Bachelor degree or equivalent diploma in music.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
- ABN (Australian Business Number)
- Must be fully vaccinated.
Availability requirements:
One to two days a week - Tuesday & Wednesday, generally 3.30pm to 8pm. Teaching hours allocated are subject to student enrolment.
