The Role
As a Surface Mount Machine Operator at Extel Technologies, you will play a crucial role in our in-house manufacturing facility, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the Surface Mount Assembly process. Your responsibilities will include operating and maintaining Surface Mount machines, monitoring production runs, and collaborating with the broader manufacturing team to meet quality standards and production targets.
Reporting to the SMA Supervisor you need to efficiently produce to a high-quality standard. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Operate and monitor Surface Mount machines to guarantee the precise placement of electronic components on PCBs.
- Conduct routine machine maintenance and troubleshoot issues to minimise downtime and optimise efficiency.
- Adherence to SOP’s and all relevant work instructions
- Collaborate with the manufacturing team to achieve production targets and KPI’s and uphold stringent quality standards.
- Provide feedback on process improvements to enhance overall manufacturing efficiency.
- Adhere to safety protocols and best practices to create a secure working environment.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Surface Mount Machine Operator or similar role in an electronics manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with Surface Mount technology (SMT) processes and equipment.
- Attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Proficiency in general PC use.
Further beneficial experience:
- Working Experience with ERP/MRP
- Experience in ISO 9001 and/or AS9100 standards highly desirable
