Job description

The Western Australian Golf Club aims to provide a premium golf club experience to all Members, guests and visitors.  To support this, a Membership and Communications role is required to build awareness and deliver high quality membership services and marketing strategies that assist in the growth and retention of membership across all areas of the Club.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Co-ordinate the induction of all new members and new member events.
  • Continually develop member engagement and retention initiatives.
  • Propose and review membership policies in line with current trends and historical factors.
  • Field and follow up membership enquiries.
  • Manage member records including the member database, electronic filing, data entry and correspondence.
  • Prepare monthly membership and other periodical reports.
  • Maintain consistent branding across all Club communications and marketing material and ensure that all promotional activity is properly structured, communicated and delivered.
  • Compile content and manage publication of Club newsletter and weekly e-news.
  • Ensure website content is current and relevant.
  • Communicate regularly and effectively with individuals, managers and teams within the Club.
  • Maintain relationships with other clubs and carry out benchmarking exercises on a regular basis.
  • Attend to duties of other office staff during periods of absence.
  • Availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Excellent interpersonal/customer service skills and customer complaint handling.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Well-developed problem solving skills.
  • Sound computer skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Resilience and the ability to work well under pressure, autonomously and meet deadlines.
  • A strong team focus and ability to maintain good relationships with internal departments.
  • A high level of personal presentation.

DESIRABLES

  • A degree in Marketing/Communications/Business.
  • Experience in a sales and/or marketing oriented role.
  • Advanced social networking and CRM experience.
  • Experienced in graphic design, visual communication and marketing.
