TDC is a Not-for-Profit, registered charitable organisation, owned by members of the Wangka, Tjanpa and Lirga peoples. The Wadeye Community, (formerly Pt Keats) NT, is located in the Western Daly River region – an area rich in cultures, wildlife and ecosystems. Wadeye is the Territory's 6th most populous towns and one of Australia's largest remote indigenous communities.
TDC is dedicated to fostering economic independence, freedom, and community development by providing essential programs and services. Da Ngimalmin, a branch within TDC, which translates in English to ‘the roots and foundations of everything’ from the Murrinhpatha language, aims to support and reconnect Kardu (the local people) with their Country, their families, and their community, while developing and strengthening traditional knowledge systems.
The Men’s Shed Health & Wellbeing Manager plays a pivotal role in advancing the objectives of Da Ngimalmin by overseeing and coordinating activities within the Men's Shed and the Community Youth Diversion Program. This multifaceted role involves managing both program areas, working closely with program coordinators, and creating a supportive and culturally sensitive environment for men and youth.
Key Responsibilities
- Empowerment and Mentoring: Empower program participants through mentoring and development, fostering a sense of pride and self-esteem.
- Day-to-Day Management: Oversee the daily operations of the Men's Shed, Youth Diversion Program and Health Programs including staff management, timesheet tracking, and the management of the timber mill and art gallery.
- Production: Demonstrate proficiency in carpentry and woodworking tools, ensuring the safe and correct use of machinery while manufacturing wooden articles and engaging in timber harvesting.
- Safety: Prioritize safety for all, following TDC Work Health and Safety policies and procedures.
- Cultural Assistance: Provide cultural assistance and support to program participants in a respectful and culturally competent manner.
- Program Development: Create and implement programs and initiatives that align with the community's well-being and empowerment goals.
- Funding: Research and explore funding opportunities to support program sustainability

Qualifications
