headspace provides support to young people aged 12-25 experiencing mild to moderate or emerging Mental Health issues. The multidisciplinary team at headspace Bega work to improve health, social, vocational and educational outcomes for young people.
Grand Pacific Health is the lead agency of headspace Bega. We are a not-for-profit, primary health care organisation providing locally-tailored, high quality physical and Mental Health services across NSW and the ACT.
About the position
The Mental Health Clinician will work collaboratively with a young person and their family/carers to identify their support needs, goals and to develop collaborative care plans.
They will provide high quality psycho-social assessment and evidence-based, focused psychological interventions to young people aged 12 to 25 referred to headspace Bega.
Based in headspace Bega, this is a part-time opportunity (22.5 hours per week) to 30 June 2025 - hours and days are negotiable.
We are looking for someone with:
- Current or working towards full AHPRA registration as a psychologist, clinical psychologist, or occupational therapist (Mental Health accredited with OTA) or qualifications in social work and eligibility to work towards accreditation with the AASW as a Mental Health social worker
- Experience in assessment and diagnosis of Mental Health disorders, and provision of evidence-based focused psychological strategies
- Demonstrated understanding of key issues in relation to the health and wellbeing needs of young people with Mental Health and/or substance use problems.
- Demonstrated ability to engage and communicate effectively with young people and their family, friends, or carers.
