Our client is a leading for-purpose service provider dedicated to supporting individuals living with mental illness, their families, and carers. They are known for their commitment to excellence and are currently seeking a passionate and skilled Mental Health Clinician to join their team.
Position Overview:
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will play a crucial role in providing a welcoming, low-stigma entry point for individuals experiencing psychological distress or crisis. Your responsibilities will include conducting assessments, developing care plans, and offering immediate, short to medium-term episodes of care. This role focuses on connecting individuals to appropriate services and promoting Mental Health and well-being within the community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct intake assessments and triage using the Stepped Care model.
- Perform Biopsychosocial assessments and collaborate with individuals to identify goals and develop care plans.
- Conduct Risk assessments and support the development of safety plans.
- Develop professional relationships with stakeholders and other professionals.
- Represent and promote Head to Health in the community.
- Participate in team meetings, clinical reviews, and supervision sessions.
- Follow recovery principles and trauma-informed care.
- Warmly connect individuals to appropriate services in line with the Stepped Care model.
- Provide evidence-based Mental Health interventions.
- Record data, progress notes, goals, and outcomes in the Client Management System.
- Adhere to and achieve the program's Key Performance Indicators.
- Consult with the team and Service Manager on complex support issues.
- Work closely with the multidisciplinary team to support individuals on their recovery journey.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Tertiary qualifications in a Mental Health discipline (Social Work, Psychology, Mental Health Nursing, or Counselling).
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), AASW, PACFA (Clinical registration), or ACA level 3.
- Understanding of the recovery-based and trauma-informed approach.
- Knowledge of the NSW Mental Health system and local services or ability to rapidly develop this knowledge.
- Experience in clinical assessments and evidence-based Mental Health interventions.
- Strong relationship-building skills and ability to collaborate within the Mental Health system.
- Effective communication skills with all stakeholders.
- Computer literacy with Microsoft programs and willingness to learn other applications.
- Knowledge of the Stepped Care model is desirable.
- Current driver's license and access to a fully insured vehicle.
