In this area, you have the choice of two different teams to join, Deloitte Business Modelling and M&A Data Analytics (known internally as iDeal).
Our dedicated Business Modelling team creates solutions, not spreadsheets, to help businesses better evaluate strategic options, new ventures, proposed transactions or existing operations.
Data Analytics lets you go deeper into the data to find the story behind the analytics—while there’s still time to act. Accelerate your insights when it matters most.
Deloitte Business Modelling (DBM)
What will your typical day look like?
Every day brings different challenges and opportunities in the Business Modelling team. From day one, you’ll be trusted with real responsibilities to provide public and private sector clients across different industries with insightful analysis in critical decision making. We’ll make sure that you gain exposure to forecasting and planning, business cases, quantitative policy analysis, project finance, mergers and acquisitions — you name it! We thrive in an exciting and dynamic workplace where no two days are the same. Drawing on best practice techniques, using quantitative analysis and sound judgement, we build thoughtful financial and economic modelling solutions to help our clients make strategic decisions.
Data Analytics (iDeal)
What will your typical day look like?
The Data Analytics team provides clients with dedicated support for a transaction or potential transaction. Typically, this involves the investigation of the target from a variety of perspectives to assist our clients in making an informed decision on the deal. You will assist in designing and developing flexible and extensible analytic solutions that encompass people, process and technology to deliver tangible value to our client’s business and M&A purpose.
Who will you be working with?
We delve in deeper into the data to find the story behind the data. Answering questions such as ‘What has been the source of this company’s growth through specific customer segments?

We know that as a student, you may not necessarily have a ton of work experience, and that’s okay! At Deloitte, we value your potential to grow more than anything else. We are looking for someone who:
Has an inquisitive nature and an insatiable hunger to learn more
Possesses strong analytical and/or quantitative skills
Is a strong communicator – both verbally and written
Has a degree in either; Data, Finance, Mathematics/Statistics, IT/IS/Computer Science, Software Engineering, Accounting, Economics, Finance, Business/Commerce, Engineering and anything analytical
Is looking to pursue postgraduate study (e.g. CA) - in which you will have our 100% support!
Nice to have, but not a must: Knowledge of SQL/R/Alteryx/Python/Tableau/QlikView/GitHub/VBA
Is an Australian permanent resident or Australian/New Zealand Citizen
