To be eligible for this role, you will need to meet the following requirements:
- Certificate III in Heavy Engineering Fabrication Trade or higher
- A broad understanding of weld procedures and qualifications
- the ability to read and interpret plans/drawings & understand the fabrication process
- at least 10 years’ experience working in the metal manufacturing industry with 3 of those years in a management, foreman, 2ic or senior supervisory role
- an understanding of Construction Category 1-3 Compliance (National Steelwork Compliance Australia) will be viewed favourably but is not essential
The ideal candidate will possess the following attributes:
- have the ability to build morale, lead by example and develop your team
- be professional and mature, with the ability to communicate clearly
- be highly organised, a quick learner and able to operate a range of machinery
- have Intermediate computer skills (Outlook/Excel/Bluebeam/Adobe/Word)
- have a willingness to work closely with your team to ensure accuracy and appreciation of all work undertaken
Reporting directly to the Production Manager, Operations Manager and other Company Directors you will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the scheduling of jobs and the allocation of resources and materials
- Ensuring that the day-to-day running and organisation of the production workshop is executed efficiently, accurately and to the quality benchmarks set by management
- Maintaining productivity and cost-effectiveness for all workshop jobs
- The supervision and coordination of 20+ workshop personnel.
